在用于表示最高级时,best前面一定要加the;但有时best只是一个形容词,表示“最好的”,不是最高级,不须加the.

另请注意,判断是不是最高级,可以通过best XXX后面是否有加范围限定；有范围限定,如：

he is the best in our class,中的“in our class”,才能有最高级.所谓一山更比一山高,没有范围,就没有“最”.

最高级前面一般都要加定冠词the,best 作为最高级前面也要加the,不加the也要加别的，比如说:my best friend。
