中元节英语故事

Once upon a time, in a small village, there was a kind old woman named Grandma Li. Every year, on the Mid-Autumn Festival, she would make delicious mooncakes and distribute them to the people in the village.

One year, a group of children came to Grandma Li's house to get their mooncakes. As they were leaving, one of the children accidentally dropped his mooncake on the ground. Grandma Li immediately picked it up and said, "Don't worry, my dear. I'll put this back together again."

She took the mooncake back into the kitchen and began to carefully repair it. When she was finished, she handed it back to the child with a smile. The child looked at the mooncake in amazement - it was as good as new!

Word quickly spread about Grandma Li's magical mooncakes, and people from all over the village began to come to her for repairs. Grandma Li was always happy to help them, knowing that her magic was making others happy.

As the years passed, the people of the village passed down Grandma Li's secret recipe for making mooncakes. They would share the recipe with their friends and family, and soon, the Mid-Autumn Festival became a time for people all over the world to celebrate with their loved ones and enjoy delicious mooncakes.

In memory of Grandma Li and her kind heart, people have been passing down the tradition of making and sharing mooncakes on the Mid-Autumn Festival for generations.

Just as Halloween is for Americans, the “Hungry Ghost Festival” is for Chinese.

Ghost Festival is one of Chinese traditional occasions, which is taken very seriously by the Chinese. This festival usually falls on the15th day of the 7th month of the lunar calendar.

The Ghost Festival, some places say the Hungry Ghost Festival, is also called Half July (Lunar), Ullambana, which is closely related to Buddhism, and zhongyuan jie which is the Taoism saying and Folk Belief.
