Volleyball, one of the ball games, has a rectangular court with a high net in the middle.
Each side of the game (six players on each side) occupies one side of the court, and the players beat the ball from the net with their hands.
The ball used in volleyball is made of sheepskin or artificial leather and rubber, and its size is similar to that of football.
Volleyball originated in the United States. In 1895, it was invented by William G. Morgan in Holyoake, Massachusetts.
